How To Make a Strawberry Smoothie

Nowadays, smoothies are no longer considered just mere drinks. With the number of ingredients and nutritional value they offer, they could be considered snacks or even meals at times. They’re healthy, delicious and easy to make. And the best part is, you can choose any combo you want! The possibilities are wide and endless, and so are the flavors!

Although it’s a general rule that fruits pretty much all blend well together, it’s important to choose your base fruit if you want it to be the leading flavor.

So if by any chance, you happen to have picked Strawberry as the base of your combo, or if you’re simply curious and want to know how to make a Strawberry Smoothie, this is the right article for you. Follow through these steps :

Note that you can (of course) choose to add other « secondary » flavors if you want, we’ll talk about that more in detail in the next steps.

  1. Preparation

For consistency purposes, it’s better to freeze your fruit beforehand or add some ice cubes for some extra freshness. You can leave your strawberries in the freezer for about 30 min.

  1. Lay out your ingredients

Once the strawberries are ready, take out the rest of the ingredients. In sum, you will need :

10 frozen strawberries

125 ml of milk

5 ice cubes

You can opt for a couple of scoops of ice cream to add in thickness, but that’s optional.

If you prefer your smoothie to be non-dairy, you can substitute the milk with a ¼  cup of water or juice of any flavor, and add a tablespoon of sweetener (honey, sugar…)

Now, that’s the classical Strawberry Smoothie. If you feel like adding more flavor to the mix, we got you! The best part about smoothies is that there’s always room for more… So get wild and creative and who knows, you might stumble upon a treasured taste that you’ll want in your mouth forever.

Here are some key ingredients we guarantee will take your smoothie to the next level :

Berries! It doesn’t matter which kind, they’re all great. Blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, cranberries…

Banana! Yes, bananas add a creamy texture to the mix and help smoothen and thicken the smoothie, they go perfectly with the berries as well.

Spinach or kale! For a healthier and more nutritious smoothie.

Flax seeds! They’re known for containing  omega-3s – a healthy fat that’s crucial for our brain, heart function, and general well-being.

To top it off, throw in some extra flavors like vanilla extract, fresh mint, cinnamon…  you won’t regret it!

  1. Mix and Blend

Take out your blender, pour in the liquids first (to protect the blades from any damage), then the strawberries and the rest of the ingredients, blend it all until it becomes smooth and voilà! Your treat is ready to enjoy.

Now you no longer have any excuse not to make this strawberry smoothie!
