How to Make a Smoothie Without Yogurt

Nothing beats a fresh mouthful of an ice cold smoothie during the hot days of summer! What would you give for one right at this moment? Well, guess what? Nothing! You don’t have to give anything, because one: you’ve probably got all the ingredients laying around the kitchen waiting to be consumed, two: I will teach you how to make it yourself, in no more than 5 min!


But first, let me tell you why you should make this yogurt less smoothie, to further prove my point :

  • It’s a healthy substitute for ice cream in a way
  • It’s jam-packed with protein and nutrients
  • It’s easy to make and doesn’t take more than 5 min
  • If you’re not a fan of yogurt, or simply don’t have any yogurt in your fridge, then don’t worry, we got you! This smoothie is your friend.
  • It’s a great way to kickstart your mornings

Below, I’ve listed 4 easy steps that you can follow to make your own yogurt less smoothie :

  1. Prepare your base

Now, before making any smoothie, one’s got to prepare their base. And by base I mean fruit. Here’s a little tip: slice up your base fruit and freeze it beforehand, soi t adds to the freshness, consistency, and thickness of the smoothie.

Also, the thing about smoothies is that you can choose about any combo you want. Since strawberries and bananas go well together, I’ve picked them out for this example.

  1. Lay out your ingredients

Once your base is ready, it’s time to take out your other ingredients and lay them out where you can see them. For that, you will need :

  • 6 frozen strawberries
  • 1 frozen banana

Note: since bananas are considered a high fructose fruit, it will serve as a sweetener. As the strawberries will be sour, using sugar isn’t a smart idea since the smoothie is already packed with fruit sugar.

  • 1 cup of coconut milk
  • 1 tablespoon of peanut or almond butter (optional)
  • 3 to 5 ice cubes (to add in thickness)
  • Throw in a superfood of your choice (optional)

It could be Chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, hemp seeds, spinach or kale…

  1. Mix and Blend

Once you have all your ingredients laid out, take out your blender and pour in the milk first, then throw in the rest of the ingredients. Blend it all until your mixture turns out smooth and even. Test-taste to check for the sweetness and consistency, if it’s too thick for your liking, add some more milk, if it lacks in sweetness, add some honey.

  1. Enjoy your treat!

Once your yogurt less smoothie is ready, pour it into a big glass and enjoy every mouthful, you’ve deserved it!

This smoothie is perfect because it’s so refreshing and rewarding in exchange for just a little if nothing! And the best part is it’s healthy and will make it much easier for you to consume some ingredients you never get the chance or simply forget to include in your daily diet.

Note that this recipe is meant for one serving! If you’d like more servings, multiply the quantitiesof each ingredient accordingly.
