Healthy and Easy Recipe for Fruit and Yogurt Smoothie

Summer time is the time for smoothie cravings and why not? It’s healthy, easily made, fresh, and most importantly undeniably delicious. Smoothies offer you easy consumption of your favorite fruits and the chance to experiment with mixing different flavors and fruits together. It’s almost like a chemistry project to find the best mix, just don’t get carried away and start adding things like fish or pizza leftovers.

If you’re on a vegan or paleo diet, coconut milk is a great liquid to mix your fruit, but if not yogurt always remain a great addition to hold all the fruits and flavors together. Now here is a quick and easy recipe to make your favorite cool and sweet treat.

1. First things First, the ingredients:

Not much is needed when making a smoothie. Like mentioned before, you don’t need much you can use any fruits you have in your kitchen. Just try not to mix too much and stick to two or three fruits in a combo:

Banana and berries mix:

(For two servings)

  • 1 Frozen bananas
  • 1 Cups of frozen blueberries
  • 1Cups of frozen strawberries

(Use whatever you have)

  • 1 and 1/2 cup of natural and unsweetened yogurt (low fast Greek yogurt will do)
  • 1 teaspoon of honey (optional)
  • 1/2 a cup of natural pure juice

Let’s not forget the topping:

  • 1 cup of dried strawberries a
  • 1 cup of dried bananas
  • Freshly sliced strawberries
  • Fresh sliced bananas
  • Dried nuts (you can use almond, walnuts, peanuts…etc.)

2. Blend, blend, blend :

It’s better to freeze the fruits rather than using ice cubes. This will allow you to preserve the flavor of the fruits even more and let it show even more. Freeze the fruits for few hours, and make sur to cut them before that so they can easily puree in the mixer.

Throw the frozen fruits of your choosing, in this case the bananas and the berries. Then add in the yogurt and juice. If you want a thicker consistency to pour your smoothie in a bowl instead, freeze the fruits for at least 12h and don’t add the juice. Use honey for sweetness. If not, juice would do.

Let the blender do its magic for a few seconds until it all comes together and now you’re ready for the last part

3. Cheers!

Pour the mix in the cups, add some lovely straws, and decorate with some topping. If you’re using a bowl, you can go to town with toppings; mix and match and decorate as you like. However, if you’re making a more liquidy smoothie, don’t put too much, just enough to make your cup look more pleasing.

The floor is yours now. Find your secret combo and have fun blending and sipping!
